How did you feel about using digital
video as a way to craft and tell your story?
It is one of the easiest ways to express
a story in an effective way. We spent only a short period
of time in learning multimedia tools. But we learned major
aspects of producing videos using multimedia tools. This learning
experience built a confidence within me to create more digital
videos in future. It was a great learning experience
What do you think is the power of telling
stories through this method?
It helps to bring the hidden truths of our
society out in an effective way.
Who have you shared your story with?
What responses have you received?
I shared my digital story with people around
me whom I meet regularly i.e. friends, co-workers, teachers,
and family. They were shocked about the lives of widows in
my culture and society. They liked the way I symbolically
represent the story using various clothes and other accessories.
In what ways has the process of both
creating and sharing your digital story contributed to change
in you? (if it has ...)
I felt like I finally did what I had planned
for so long to express the real story that I have been witnessing
since my childhood. Digital storytelling made it possible
to express it.
Do you it's important to connect survivors
globally, and how useful is digital storytelling in this?
It is very important because it creates
the feeling within survivors from various parts of the world
that they are not the only people who are suffering or who
have been victims. The digital story of a survivor with positive
transformation in her life after suffering empowers other
survivors around the world to make their lives better.
Is there anything else you'd like to
express, about your story, about the process of making it...etc?
I went through the emotional moment during
the process of telling the story and presenting it to my production
group. I still remember those teary eyes while we were making
it.
